Janig holds AMI Montessori diplomas at both the Infant-Toddler (Birth to 3 years) and Primary levels (ages 3 to 6). She is also AMS credentialed at the Elementary I and II levels (ages 6-12) and holds a Master’s in Education from Loyola University. She spent a decade teaching in Montessori schools before becoming a mother to three children—two of whom are current MSNV students and one a proud graduate. She began working at MSNV as a substitute, and then for two years as a Lower Elementary teacher, before taking on the role of Director of Curriculum and Instruction. She is grateful to be able to put all four of her Montessori trainings into practice, and to work in a warm, loving environment where children are happily engaged.
Sara Bannon, CPA, is the Director of Finance at MSNV joining in 2017. Prior to her position at MSNV she was the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), which was part of former First Lady Michelle Obama's initiative to curb childhood obesity. In total she has two decades of non-profit management experience; however, she started her career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Sara is an alumna of the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University where she wrote her thesis on the convergence of domestic and international accounting standards. She served on the Board of Governors for the Greater Washington Society of CPAs (2009-2015) and chaired both its Nonprofit Committee and the annual Nonprofit Accounting Symposium. She has served on the Advisory Council for Ohio University’s School of Accountancy. She has received multiple awards including the Non-Profit CFO of the Year, Rising Star (2014), the Greater Washington Society of CPA’s Emerging Leadership Award (2010), and Ohio University’s School of Accountancy’s Young Alumnus Award (2008). Sara is a registered yoga instructor and loves playing tag with her twin boys, Grant and James who both attend MSNV.
Lisa has been a Montessori teacher for 27 years. She has her Elementary I and II credentials from the Center for Montessori Teacher Education\New York. Lisa is also a teacher trainer for Montessori Elementary Teacher Training Collaborative.
Lisa graduated with a BS degree in Geobiology from Valparaiso University and MS in Quaternary Paleontology from Northern Arizona University.
Prior to teaching Montessori, Lisa worked as a paleontologist at Northern Arizona University and for the National Park Service in Arizona. Her interest in teaching was ignited by her work at the Illinois State Museum, where she collaborated with scientists and educators to develop and manage “A Place for Discovery,” one of the first hands-on children’s galleries in the country. Lisa’s daughter attended Montessori schools in Flagstaff, AZ from 18 months through Middle School. Lisa enjoys kayaking, reading, and collecting fossils.
Lisa is excited to be a part of the MSNV culture of guiding children to become their most authentic selves through the highest academic standards and loving care.
