    Elvira grew up in Vigo, a small town in the northwestern part of Spain, lived in Virginia from 1999 to 2013, and in 2021 returned to the area with her husband, her elementary-age daughter, and two rescue dogs after living in Barcelona and Valencia. She discovered the Montessori pedagogy when her daughter was a few months old and fell in love with the method and the way it instills a passion for learning and curiosity in their students. Elvira holds a Business and Tourism Management Degree, a Convention and Exposition Management Certificate, the AMI School Administrator Certificate, and the AMI Introduction to Adolescence Certificate. Her experience in education includes an administration leadership role in a Montessori School in Valencia and a British school in Barcelona, as well as managing a national educational leadership program in Washington, DC. Her other experiences include working in an environmental NGO and a digital business platform start-up. She is grateful to have joined the Montessori School of Northern Virginia along with its community, and being able to use her expertise and passion for education to foster our student-centered mission and long-term vision.

    Beca has worked at MSNV since 2007 in numerous capacities. She is currently working on her Bachelor degree in Business Management. Beca loves all things creative and sharing that love with the children at MSNV.

    After attending a Montessori Elementary school, Jackie Savage graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in 2006. She was thrilled to immediately begin her Montessori teaching career at MSNV. She earned her Montessori certification and Masters in Montessori Education from Loyola University in 2008. She then helped start MSNV’s Upper Elementary program. In 2020 she transitioned to her current role as a Lower Elementary teacher. She loves spending time with friends and family, eating delicious food, and reading. She is also a proud MSNV parent, as both of her boys attend MSNV's Valleybrook campus.

    Amy Schlenker is an enthusiastic lover of life, learning, and supporting children in achieving their dreams of all sizes. She's an experienced Montessori Upper Elementary Teacher, art and 4-H organic gardening teacher, and former marketing executive. She holds an Elementary certification from the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies, an MBA from Cornell, and a BS Business from Miami of Ohio. Her passion for Montessori education, love of children and desire to make a difference inspired a career switch from the corporate world to the classroom. Outside of school, Amy's favorite activities are gardening, kayaking, creative endeavors, anything at the Kennedy Center/Wolf Trap, playing with her two bunnies and cats, and best of all, doing any of these activities with her husband and teen daughter...who is a Montessori Elementary graduate.

    Timmy, who joined MSNV in 2014, has been a Lower and Upper Elementary teacher in the Washington, DC area since 2003. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with a focus on Poetry and minors in Literature, Philosophy, and Religious Studies from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida in 2000 and his Master of Arts, Education in Montessori Studies from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota in 2017. He holds Elementary I & II credentials from the Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies. Timmy has presented a number of workshops at national Montessori Conferences on a range of topics: including poetry, woodworking, ecology, peacemaking, and jazz. A published poet, he is also an avid maker, tinkerer, crafter, carpenter, and scientist. Timmy enjoys biking, soccer, and going on adventures with his partner, Katie, and their child, Bea, 2021 MSNV graduate.
